Toddler Teacher: Hi, my name is Alexis G and I am 21 years old. I have been working with children in a daycare setting for over a year and it has been an amazing opportunity. I have worked with children from the ages of 2-7 mainly. However, I have substituted working with children from 6 weeks to 12. Before working in a daycare, I babysat all the time. I started babysitting my four cousins when I was thirteen years old. There were two one-year-olds, a two-year-old, and a four-year-old when I first started babysitting them. Then, when I was 16 my brother Hunter was born. Finally, at 18 my sister Lily was born. After graduating high school, a couple months after my sister was born I stayed home Monday through Friday from 7am until 4pm and took care of them. During high school I was in a vocational program where I went into public schools and helped out in the classroom. I have learned a lot about children and teaching through these last 8 years of working with children. I have an associate’s degree from Joliet Junior College which I completed in May. After a few months of going back and forth on where I wanted to continue my education I have finally come to the conclusion of studying at an online school called Western Governor University. I hope to get my Bachelor’s degree there and then to pursue my Master’s degree when I am finished. When I’m not doing school work or working my favorite thing to do is to take my siblings to fun places. I love taking them to starved rock and to Sky Zone. I also enjoy playing Mario video games with my brother. I love to sleep as well and I am obsessed with the TV shows Gilmore Girls, Bewitched, and Grey’s Anatomy. I am looking forward to teaching at Little Learners!
